I'm no expert but the plastic oil filter cap (insert type) on my Vauxhall was much bigger, around 34 m.m. if memory serves.
Maybe you should just stick a ruler across the flats of the 'nut'?
That's no way to treat your monarch! ;D

Now i Know i need a 45T hex to remove the sump plug on my facelift but can anyone remind me of the size of spanner needed for the removal of the end of the Oil filter cap.

Just about to run upto Toolstation to get an oil pan for old oil.

Thanks all
Steve

You can either use a 15/16ths spanner on the external 'nut', or a 3/8ths socket drive in the internal square within the lid if it is not rounded ;) ;)

I like proper sizes.... :y :y :y
