What is DBW?

Seen that used a lot on here, what is it/what does it stand for?

Drive by wire, the newer style throttle contol as seen on the 2.2, 2.6 & 3.2 as opposed to having a cable like the older ones.

It's actually drive by the variable resistor located under your right foot.

Or rheostat when I was at school in the 1800's.
