I will let Max Hastings answer for me. ;)

Indeed, and Max Hastings is a king amongst British historians, along with Peter Hennessy, Martin Gilbert, Robert Kershaw, and a few others I could mention who specialise in British history :y :y :y

Hastings though is one of my heroes and is a highly respected and listened to historian, who many rate as one of the foremost historians of our time.

In his article he is pointed out exactly what the situation was, and is, in terms of British influence in history and the limit that extends to in what is now happening in modern times 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

In my opinion, his view is spot on  :y :y :y

So what of the Roman Empire, the Ottoman Empire or Ghengis Khan or Hitlers Third Reich or any other of History's expansionists or imperialists? What a Kn*b!Of course there were many problems caused by British Imperialism but many countries ultimately benefited in things as well! The real problem is all about those who want power/money at the expense of other, normally weaker, people. The British dont have a monopoly on that. Thought Cameron was many things but never  figured him for an apologist

I generally support the Condemns..... because hopefully they'll condemn Labour to opposition for a very long time!!!  :y :y :y

But... call me Dave is starting to build up form in this sort of thing.... He should be out there bigging Britain up and not wringing his hands like some Liberal... Oh hang on!!  ;D ;D ;D
