From what i remember, lpg isnt to replace the diesel as it is with petrol engines, it gets mixed with the diesel.
So the amount you save is less than a petrol engine.

propane on a diesel gives you almost a 100percent burn, the asaving comes from being able to lift the throttle off and use less diesel, far cleaner emissions, more power and torque and less dirty oil believe it r not owing to almost complete combustion, ther are kits you can buy and have instaled but its also very very easy to do yourself, but would definetly recommend an EGT gauge be fitted before you start injecting gas in !! it is just injected into the intake so a lot less involved than a petrol, look on you tube and there are daft amercans just using a adjustable nozzle connected to a gas bottle in the car!!! lol but it works!!

okay i was wrong but what i dont understand is
why is it not more widely used?
surely if it was any good our taxi drivers would be useing it as the less they spend the more they make.
and from what omegatoy says its cheaper and easier to fit than a petrol kit.
does anyone know of anyone with a kit fitted ?

It doesnt save money, as on a petrol ebgine. It boosts power.
It is used in some large diesel motorhomes to give them a bit of extra grunt to get up steep hills, for example.
