How do i check if they are any good for my car and would any one recomened them?

I'd be guessing they are wrong as yours probably has the later vented rear discs and you don't want to end up having a Mike Dundee situation when the pads wear.

Does any one know where to get some pads and discs i only need them for a little while because after the wedding in a month and half time i will be able to replace them again for some better ones but im going down to bournemouth with five blokes in the car and dont wont to run into any problems on the way.

Best value for pads and discs is from Vx on trade club

Brake disc & pad kits, front (axle set)
All models exc. 2.0 to '97       93175466       £109.00(retail)       £89.98 (trade)       £80.15 (trade club)

rears are more expensive ..

Solid discs/drums to '00        90444513        £94.00        £79.96        £65.81
 
Ventilated discs/drums from '01       93182287       £94.00       £80.15       £68.05

and the pads/shoes (

All models brake shoes        90541931        £72.00        £61.26        £43.70
 
All models disc pads       93169001       £20.75       £18.68       £12.23

All plus VAT of course ..


so some big savings to be made with TC .. :)

I would buy rear brake shoes from somewhere else.  TC prices for them are a joke.
