Took TB's advice and decided to do the new Omega first proper service myself. Joined a certain car club last week. I sent the cheque off on Tuesday and got the member's pack back on Saturday (that period includes a one day postal strike - so cracking service!).  

This week, I'm off with my TC card to my local Vx dealer with the following shopping list:

12 Litres semi-synth
Sump washers x 2
Oil filters x 2
Air filter x 1
Pollen filter x 1
Plenum O ring set
Brake fluid

Plus:
Cruise control stalk
Omega 2.6V6 rear badge


Not sure where to get the cambelt kit. I seem to remember reading about a dodgy batch out there somewhere, so any pointers would be useful. Incidentally, I can't remember what size swan neck spanner I need. Last time I did a cambelt I didn't use one but swore I'd get one next time round.

Im feeling guilty as it's taken a fair bit of time to get round to doing this, but what with my No. 1 offspring's school activities (not to mention social life - and she's only six  ), plus the rain, plus work. I just haven't had a minute for the car  .

That's right TB, but I only found out today because the really helpful guy at the parts desk pointed out the offer - which I obviously took advantage of.  

So, I got ALL the above plus the extra 8l of oil, new wipers, set of plugs, Car Pass and a cambelt kit for £253. Good value, I reckon.

Oh, and he also recommended a spare sump plug, in case the existing one is a bit iffy.
