I`m 50 and my insurance costs are £274. for the Disco (2.5 Diesel) and £304 for the Miggy (2.5 V6); both policies include roadside recovery/assistance.

I fully understand people who live in (or near towns) who simply use P/H taxis for going shopping, to doctors appointments or for visiting etc.......it`d actually be so much cheaper than the 'real' costs of running a car!
