Astra Cambelt
« on: 06 July 2011, 20:49:41 »

Hello, thinking of changing the cambelt etc. on the wife's '97 Astra. Any advice on the best place for parts and a guide on how to do it would be most welcome. Engine is X16 SZR.

Thanks.

Dead easy on those, use sutton auto factors for parts and do the cambelt as well.

I might be able to assist if you wanted to use my drive/tools etc.

Dont forget to do the water pump to.

And if the stat is iffy, change it at the same time as its a cambelt off job on the 8 valves

It's very good of you to offer, I may need to take you up on it.

Would the best source of maintainance procedures be a Haynes manual?
