New MOD! Chrome Trim
« on: 21 May 2008, 02:13:17 »

This is the latest addition to my car... the idea got sparked form teh Pre-Face lifted cars, they have a chrome strip that goes all the way around the car, and so I decided to make myself some of those... here are the pictures...

In this picture the trim is installed on the right side only... you can compare the two... much brighter... and it looks great, it doesn't stick   :oout at all.

and some on the rear..

Very nice.  I also love the bigger fog lights on the US versions of the Carera over the Omega Facelift.

There are two lamps in those units. The inner ones are the Fogs. The outer ones are cornering lights and come on with the turnsignals. They don't flash. They're shine to the side and through the turn. A waste of electrons if you ask me. The light they provide is weak. They look nice but are otherwise useless. GM must consider them a luxury I guess, and necessary to turn an Opel into a Cadillac.

I think it was one of the key features on the Cadillacs from way back in the day and as you said they need to make it more like Cadillac then anything else....

I find them pretty useful because they are designed to light up the area to the left/right, not necessary the ground, these helped me a few times to see pedestrians on the side that I could have otherwise run over by the time I saw them on my regular lights...

I was thinking about tinting a portion of the fogs but thats still an idea in my mind... I am doing the GTO wing next as well as some rear mud guards...
