Ronnie project LPG Elite update 73
« on: 01 August 2007, 12:45:24 »

I have lost count of the updates with this mega-sage. But here we go.

Yesterday I did myself in a bit, but did a little more than I may have mentioned. So much in fact that it now runs again and drives. It has NO leaks anywhere, no water leaks, no oil leaks, no drips, no farts. SO far so good.

I ran it for about 30 minutes and then moved it about a little. Couldn't go for a drive because the bumper isn't on right yet. But all the same, not bad from Engine in on Sunday to running yesterday.

Now, you all want to know is it better? YES. It is 100% better. It is a tiny bit tappety on the passenger side, but that is quieting down and will do more once I flush and change the oil etc. It was a VERY big relief to hear it start straight away. Lots of smoke off the sides whilst it burnt off the greasy hand prints etc, but basically sound.

Still to do: Cambelt, water pump, full oil & filter change etc. Then LPG setup again and that is all I am doing. I am then calling it a day on this car. I will clean it all, but I am not bothering with all the other little bits, like handbrake adjustment etc. It is MoT'd and taxed, so can be driven away once finished.

LONG job, but starting to see light at the end of the tunnel again.

No work today. Doctors orders. Although I might just....... no OK, I won't.

Glad it has all worked out at last.  Congrats on your perseverance with this what seems to have been a nightmare project.

Ok, so I couldn't resist. So, I just plumbed back in the LPG and it does work. I also took the car around the block - literally. Drives fine.

So, project is now for sale as I am not doing anything else on this car.
