The control pcb is mounted directly behind the control buttons. Remove ashtray assembly radio and cage then there is a rectangular aluminium bar up behind where the radio sits which needs to be pulled down to release the catches (need to use 2 large screwdrivers to pull the bar down on mine as quite stiff and a little awkward to get your fingers in). Unplugg the two plugs (the one behind the passenger temp control has a black clip in the middle which needs to be pulled out first before it will release) and hey presto - it will fall in your lap/footwell.
Hope this helps.
