Fitting Leather Interior
« on: 04 January 2007, 14:07:56 »

Looking at a set of leather on eBay from an Elite, to put in my 1995 CDX with has cloth interior.

My seats are all manual, apart from the height adjustments, but I take it the Elite seats would have more electrical adjustments.

Other than bolting in the seats, is there anything else I'd need to do to get them working?

Wiring/connectors?

Mine has electric adjustment in all directions (except lumber IIRC) plus memory (drivers) & heat.

When I fitted mine all I needed was a nylon connector for modify the drivers seat electrics. Used the elccy from the up/down to power the lot

All the other seats were just plug and play.

If the seats do have the memory etc I'm sure there is a piccy somewhere of the connections.

Do you know if you get the connector to the memory/ motor unit under the seat cos if so this will make life one hell of a lot easier.

Hope this helps.

I wouldn't bother with memory, it's likely to be a load of hassle for very little gain. My BMW has memory seats and mirrors, and I never used it - why would you ever move the seat anyway once it's comfortable? Admittedly no-one else ever drives mine!

Well there is one feature of memory that's useful: you can set the passenger mirror to dip when you put the car into reverse, so you can see the pavement. It moves back to the original position when you take it out of reverse. Not sure if Omega has this though as mine doesn't have memory seats or mirrors.

As said above, all you really need is power to move the seats, the supply from the existing connector should be enough.

Dunno, but as there are only 2 drivers that use my car, me & SWMBO, and 3 memory settings on the seat I have the 3rd with both mirrors set to the floor for reversing. Cheaper than 4 'bullet holes' in the back bumper too!  ;)
