spark plug 2 or 4 electrode
« on: 09 February 2007, 14:16:00 »

Recommended plug is Bosch FLR8LDCU or GM09 (a twin electrode.) - same plug different box
Has anyone put Bosch FR91X or similar (four electrodes) in their 2.2  advertised on ebay.
If so any difference other than price?? ::)

Thanks

An intersting one.....the only real advantage you get from a 4 electrode setup on a modern ignition system is longevity....i.e. 80K service intervals .....and they have often worked loose before this time is up anyway!

I actulay see a down side of 4 elctrode versions as the spark has more shielding from the fuel/air mix and could in theory affect the speed of the flame front across the piston.......

So my opinion....not worth it!
