Aux Pulley torque setting
« on: 08 May 2007, 13:37:14 »

Could someone please confirm the torque setting for the aux pulley bolt on the 2.0 DOHC (it seems to be missing from Haynes).
It does give the V6 as 35Nm, but I'd like to check.

Cheers,

Ian

That will be the

'torsional vibration damper to toothed belt drive gear' –  20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft.

I don't really understand that.

Isn't the 'toothed belt' the cam belt?   If I had to guess what
'torsional vibration damper to toothed belt drive gear'
was I would have guessed at the big aux pulley at the bottom with the rubber coupling ('torsional vibration damper?) that bolts onto the crank (toothed belt drive gear).  So the 20Nm would be for the 4x torx screws holing the pulley on.

My vote is for
Ribbed V-belt tension roller to ancillary component support
 25

BTW following your DVD advice regarding repacking its bearings I thought I would take a look.   Bone dry of course. (not really surprising after 185k)
