oil leak
« on: 08 July 2007, 23:19:08 »

i wonder if someone can helpe with some suggestions.....i am stuck!!!

I have an oil leak from the N/S of the engine i i have excluded rocker covers as they have been checked, however we have been able to establish this...

It is a leak that is coming from higher than the oil filter housing but lower than the head/manifold, the Sump does not look to be the issue ( i know that the airflow can disrupt the oil and cause it to flow upwards!)
It is still leaking after a filter change (we feel that excludes the housing and screw on cap as it has had a new seal)

Any ideas would be appreciated as i am due to drive down to the south of France next week and i really dont want to be dealing with an oil leak whilst doing that sort of mileage

good point about the oil cooler pipe, they have not been disturbed recently, although i will have a close look.

Will have to get under there and give it a clean off, it spends most of its time trundling up and down the m5/m46/m1 so getting a day when it we can get it on the ramps is rare
