« on: 15 July 2007, 23:30:56 »

Hi Folks,Can anybody tell me what a reasonable MPG  i can expect from my W reg 2.0 ltr auto gls say on a 15 mile trip averaging 40 to 50 mph ,it took about 25 mins in all.I think it averaged about 30 to the gallon is this acceptable ,if not how can i improve on this,by the way it was not a motorway trip, mainly country roads. Thanks

Seems OK - try going a bit faster - like 55 - as lock up will save a little energy

Low to mid 30s...  ...more if a constant speed.  It won't be hugely better than 2.5 v6 unless constant cruise, a case of being slightly underpowered (esp in auto form)...
