Noisy Cooling Fan
« on: 06 August 2007, 21:46:09 »

Hi Guys

Wondered if someone can help me.

I have a very noisy radiator fan, it's rattling it's nuts off, it's still working at the mo, but proberbly not for long. :(

Apart from the embaresment when you park up and it's still screeching as you walk away :-[It's on a 2003 2.2 Dti CDX estate and it's the one on the front left of the rad when you lift the bonnet.

Question is, Can you purchase a motor and swap the impellor over from the old one? or do you have to buy the whole lot?

If the later are they pretty universal or will I have to find a second hand one off a later DTI

I should imagine the vx new would be pricey.

Any help would be appreciated :y

Cheers for your comments guys. :y

But can someone tell me.

Are they universal on the facelift or do I need a dedicated DTI version?

I had this after a long run and found a tiny stone wedged between the fan and the housing. Worth a look maybe.

As per the aircon condenser, they are standard across all models (note some 4 pots only have one front mounted fan)
