Alarm going off in sunshine
« on: 14 August 2007, 23:45:46 »

The last couple of days, everytime the sun has been out the alarm has triggered every half hour or so.
I suspected this morning that the neighbours might just be a bit fed up with this, so I had a quick look on both this site & the Yahoo one for a solution. Altho nothing on here (until this post) on the subject, it seems a couple of people on Yahoo have suffered from this - one tip was to look at the bonnet alarm switch - checked this & found it broken - must have poorly replaced it last time I changed the oil. Simply removed the switch & all is well - will replace it soon. Took me 3 minutes on the computer & 2 minutes at the car - the power of this type of group.  :y

Yes, it's been covered several times on here, perhaps we should put something about it in the FAQ section........

Good idea to put something in the FAQs - I searched this forum (altho quickly) and found nothing - found the answer instantlyover on Yahoo.

Alarm going off in hot weather is common and has been covered many times before, adjusting bonnet switch is the usual cure...
