What can go Wrong?
« on: 04 September 2007, 20:19:11 »

The wagon has had oil and filter, both air filters, cam belt kit, waterpump and diff. oil changed in the last few weeks. Last summer it had plugs, fuel filter, anti-freeze changed and breathers cleaned. It's done 85K. about 10K. in the last year.

Now to get to my question.
I'll be driving to the South of France soon, the only things I think might let me down are HBV and crankshaft sensor. Should I change them or am I being an old worryguts?

Eddie.

mine was on 135,000 when i went to france this summer, it had all the work done that your has had.

I didn't take a crank sensor, although i really should have one as a back up

As vaux has said, no harm in carrying spares

:o well, you've obviously done a lot of work so far, I'd agree with vauxhallomega1, get 'em and take 'em plus a small emergency toolkit! Good luck. ;)

I carry a spare aux drive belt, just in case.  If you take one, buy it from VX dealer, there have been some issues withe autovaux ones being a little too short.

Enjoy your trip.

I wish I'd taken a spare crank sensor with me last time I took the Omega to the south of france ::)

Thanks for all the replies.
Think I'll buy the bits and fit them if there is time or take them with me if not.

If you have leather don't burn the back of your legs on your seats when you have your shorts on. They get bloody hot! :o

Do a quick paperclip test, if you have a 19, replace crank sensor immediately.  If no 19, take the sensor with you...
