Buying advice on 2.5TD CDX Auto
« on: 26 September 2007, 20:30:09 »

Hi all
I've found a promising sounding one and I'm off to see it in the Morn;

-S'reg
-2.5TD CDX Auto
-Met Red
-105k miles
-FSH 1 owner since 10k

He's asking £1500, whats it worth and what should I check for, also I've read on hear that the boxes aren't great, how can I tell?

Any advice gratefully accepted
Phil

The usual things for Omega, plus makes sure it starts absolutely on the nose, shouldn't need cranking.

If it's not too late - make sure that it ticks over and decelerates at low revs smoothly (no hunting of the engine - otherwise you may need a new or recon injector pump).  :o
Good service history is essential - these engines (altho' some on here will no doubt deny it) will go on forever if they've been serviced regularly (and that means every 4500 mile oil/filter changes) - if you think it's been neglected then don't touch it!

And that is MAXIMUM. Ideally every 3k!
