« on: 21 October 2007, 21:13:47 »

Remote key isn't working, changed to a known good battery, the light comes on on the remote but central locking doesn't work.Central locking is ok when using the key.

You don't show your car details, .. is it the IR or RF type keyfob ??  If it's the RF one it might need resynching, especialy if you have changed the battery ...  place in ignition, turn ignition on, press the "lock" button until doors lock, then the "unlock" button until doors unlock ... should now be re-synched.

This does NOT work for the IR fobs I believe

I think ( an expert will no doubt correct me) the change occured in 96/97 ... so you may have an RF one .. its worth trying anyway .. what do you have to lose ??? it won't harm an IR one and might just work for you :)

That will be an RF type. Presumably it did work (ie, not a replacement fob)?  If so, try resync, if that doesn't help, resolder the connections on the PCB
