Access Injectors 2.0 Ecotech

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to unclip the trunking carrying the loom along the side of the rocker cover on the 2.0 ecotech please?  I want to interupt the electrical supply to the injectors. I can't see any clips and the haynes manual dosn't have any pictures.  I don't want to force it off and break something.

I can tell you that it's a pain in the back. I spent more than a few hours to figure it out. This is how it looks when removed:


You'll have to start at the #1 injector (closest to timing belt). Depending on MY, don't confuse #1 with the crank sensor connector (removing this will make it easier to reach the injector connector). Use a moderate amount of force to bend the trunk backwards and insert a welding wire or something to push the end of the clip in the direction of the engine block (be prepared for clips flying everywhere). Once #1 is loose the trunk can be pushed more up and away to reach #2 and so on. 3 and 4 is a lot easier to reach with ICV removed.

Edit: Also, dependent on MY(?)) don't confuse the knock sensor connector with #3 or 4

Thanks for that Magnul, I'm installing LPG am thinking of cutting into the loom to install Injector Modulator but would like to see if I can position the loom carrier in some way.

If your only going to cut the wiring, there's no need to remove the entire trunk (perhaps a small misunderstanding from my side). The trunk cover will come off with some persuasion/brute force (whatever you prefer). It's pretty easy to see the wires to the injectors as the disappear throug the bottom of the trunk.

I'll let you reply in english as long as you bear with my norwinglish;)

Edit: If you need to remove the trunk to put some piggy-back system between the injectors and connector, there are som pics of a dirty installation in this directory:

I just lifted the trunk a bit, the only fiddly part is the breather hoses.

Thanks again Magnul. I'm going to see what it look like as Piggy Back first. If not I'll break into the loom near the battery and install new connectors.

By the way Your Norwenglish is better than a lot of written English I see.

Nice stealth installation, which is a plus since ethanol conversion officially is illegal in both Sweden and Norway. LPG conversions are legal, but don't know if its legal as DIY. Quite expensive (starting at £2000) and not an awful lot of filling stations. A pity, as I'd like to make a tri-fuel car ::)

According to the guy who built that, the leads to the injectors are brown/red, brown/blue, brown/green and brown/yellow (think that's simtec 56.1, don't know about 56.5). In case you don't have them already (depending on MY):

You're a mine of information. Dont think I'll bether with the injector boot now. I'll go in through the EM box. Only difference will be the need to remove the system should I change the car so extra connectors will be used.

DIY LPG Installation is OK in the UK. My insurance compamy would like it to be certified so I've arrange a full inspection before the final connection.  I've not looked into an ethonol system as my job would be in jepardy should I break any laws.

I'll keep a note of this and let you have some photos of the finished product.

Basically 70ltr Stako tank behind rear seats, vapouriser attached under Air filter bracket. Tjis Weekend the Injector emulator will be wired through EM Box.
