oil level on dip stick
« on: 29 November 2007, 14:26:52 »

Anyone else having trouble getting a decent reading on oil level dipstick? has 4 or 5 indentations on it and find that on removal, level seems to be missing 2nd from top on stick then then further up theres more , can't work out if oil is 3/4 full or full if this makes sense, wondering if it could be the stick is scrubbing on removal but no matter which orientation I place   the stick the same thing happens ! Not a real problem but just me trying to be precise as usual!!  ;)
Cheers Pete

It is unclear sometimes. Try looking at the back of the indentations: IIRC this is smooth and may give a better indication. Don't be tempted to overfill though. that can cause problems, I understand.
