How easy is it to do a cambelt on an MV6?
« on: 17 December 2007, 00:27:14 »

As above really , i'm fairly competant and can read a Haynes manual ::) I own tools but are there any special ones for this job? and how easy is it to do/mess up?I'm limited on space in which to work as my driveway is narrow and the only bit I could work on is sloped!

It's essential to use the correct locking and setting kit. Some members here will lend - or you can hire from autovaux.

Haynes misses some important factors, don't trust it.

This forum offers a DVD at a non profit making price of £3 which shows a cambelt change being done on a V6, it's invaluable...

Yup, get DVD for £3 - PM 'Robin Hood'
Must, must, must use locking/timing kit.  Otherwise easy-ish job, just needs a few bits removed to get to it...
