Forced induction is a different matter entirely (and not a 5 minute bolt-on modification, either, especially at 400 BHP). I'd wager that engine was stripped rebuilt to a much higher standard, or short-lived. ;)

I heard about that. Hehe. Kind of "Doughnut compensation device"  ;D

Wouldn't have fancied working on it. I bet it got a bit tight in the engine bay.

It did look a bit tight, the turbo was placed where the bagpipes are :-/

and let me guess... It was due a cam belt change?  ;D

I guess the exhaust must have been routed forwards to the turbo and then back again.

The engine was knocking like hell so I didnt know if I should bolt all the goodies to mine (full Irmscher kit, turbo) or swap the engine. Now Timbuk has his garage which came hold about 25 cars indoors and about the same outside I would probably swap the engine. Shame I lost the blokes contact details. I t someone on here that put me intouch but I can't remember who :'(

Wow! that's a serious garage.  :-*

Sounds like the V6 didn't take to kindly to being Turbocharged then? Would have been an interesting project to play with. I'd have been tempted to rebuild it with a bit less compression and turn the boost up [smiley=evil.gif]

Low comp is [smiley=thumbdown.gif]. high comp forced induction is the only way  :y

i bet that twin turbo'd v6 would of needed rebuilt after ever session.

will be cheaper to drop LS engine..

Oi! less of the idea stealing lol thats what will be happening to mine once the suspension, brakes and diff are they way i want them. 4k for a brand new engine cant be argued with! granted it has to be imported from the other side of the world, and will prob be a headache getting it right, but it'll be worth it!

I think that "Courtney Turbos" only did a few 2.5 V6 twin turbo engines, it was the cost of the job that put people off
