Pleased to hear you got yours working,Alexandjen.
I have had what can only be described as anightmare with the set I bought. After reading lots of write ups decided to buy the Cobra 4 eye system from a firm in Canvey Island.Got a fair price so decided to do the fit myself as couldn,t be that difficult. To start with I took off the rear bumper as during the course of fitting the sensors I wanted to replace the long chrome trim which got bent by a tow bar in a car park. The bumper came off easy and armed with a drill fitted the eyes and got all back inplace.Feed the 4 wires up through the number plate light wire hole and grommet and then connected each in turn to the control module. The unit had a feed wire which needed connecting to earth and another into the reversing light switch wire into the boot lid.So far so good!!!! The last 2 wires went to the buzzer which I positioned behind the rear seat corner pad.
As the instructions advised to reverse and stop approx 50cm from wall and a 2 beep[ would sound..then wait approx 100 seconds for the eyes to register and become set then all would work.It then advised that a "loop blue wire"should be cut and each end taped.I followed the instructions to the letter and despite retracking my steps I could not get the unit to function..it would only beep twice with the blue wire joined and continous with the blue wire cut.
I contacted the supplier and they were very helpfull and said it sounded like a faulty control module and they would replace it.Th e new one arrived just before Christmas and I decided to refit it.
The original problem still remains where by you either get just a 2 beep to advise function or with the blue wire cut a continuos beep.I again retraced my steps and found all to be as per fitting instructions.I again contacted the supplier who advised that I could take the car to them in Canvey Island and pay for one of their fitters to try and rectify..so at present I have 4 fairly unobtrusive rear sensors in my rear bumper...but no reversing system.
Would be curious to know what system you bought and if anybody else has had a similar experience...they don,t seem difficult items to fit so now looks likeI have a trip to Canvey (deep joy ) in 2008.
