we have concluded the cat is breaking down badly and causing the issue, i will hopefully have a replacement cat on there this weekend so will be able to report if this has sorted it

I did consider exhaust blockage.

However Cat back, my system is brand new.

And as for the cats themselves, I would have expected the problem to be apparent all the time?

In fairness, my car is NOT as quick as a V6 should be, but I don't think it's bad enough to point to a knackered cat  :-/

Would it help to get the friendly local garage to test emissions?
