Misfire.
« on: 10 January 2008, 18:26:14 »

Hi and a happy new year to all...

Well I have to say I have done 2000 hassle free miles over the last month mostly in France where she never missed a beat until......

Drove her to work this morning and because it was raining I got held up in traffic so never really opened her up. Driving home tonight she was fine at idle, low speed and cruising but any hill or more than say half throttle she lost all power coughed spluttered and farted. It felt like the traction control was cutting in as the revs just went. Its to hot and dark to check over now, I will start with a check of the plugs but I’m guessing its dis pack... any other suggestions????

UPDATE ON PROJECTOR LIGHTS......

Units arrived and it was a perfect example of a badly worded ebay purchase.... to be continued......

Thanks

Pogo

Yes I will tomorrow, my only concern is that if it was oil down the plug holes then surely this cause a slight misfire ie one or two plugs missing and not a complete loss of power like the traction does... I know to start from the start and check the basics but im not convinced with just oil. Is there a test other than the check light? Its not on but I havent checked for any codes as i'm led to believe no light equals no code.

Thanks for the offer but the company are trying to source a new set for me, I will have to give them as chance as they wont refund only replace.
