Interior Fans Not Working
« on: 19 February 2008, 19:24:19 »

My interior fans have just completely stopped working, everything else electrical is working fine, i've checked all the fuses under the steering column but they are all fine.
Any ideas?

Try a reset of the fans if it's got climate, hold the two fan buttons simultainiously for 5-10 secs, try again...

It's a M Reg with A/C so it got a knob for the Fan Control Settings 0 to 4

Anyone?
This is really hampering my driving in this current spate of cold weather.

The chances are its the fan itself given its the early simple setup, I doubt its the speed controller because on the early units its only a resisitor which is bypassed for full speed operation.

You'll be pleased to know I traced it back to a dodgey ignition switch, the 6 Pin plug that the barrell fits into changed that from one from a scrappy that cost me a fiver and hey presto the fans are working.
I can only asume something inside the plug has broken and not powering the fans up.
