Autobox Selector Switch
« on: 29 February 2008, 19:15:27 »

Can anyone tell me where the autobox selector switch is on a 2.0 98??

Want to check it or replace it to see if it stops the gear jumping (skips 3rd).

Could this also be the kick down sensor is that the same as the selector switch??

I think you might have the dredded autobox thrust washer problem that plagues the omega, search around for some info on here there is plenty about.

I am changing my gearbox soon.  I have found a box from a W reg 41k miles but I am wondering if I should change the thrust washer before fitting it to the beast?

What makes you think its the Thrust Washer. The car appears to just jump in and out of 3rd gear when accelerating. In normal mode it will do about 1500 revs in third but in sports it will jump in then out without appearing to do anything??
