Blower Heater Problem
« on: 13 March 2008, 14:31:17 »

Hello Forum.

I've a '97 2.0 16v Gls Estate and the heater motor won't operate on the bottom three switch settings - although it will work when on the top setting. The problem only started this week - up until then all worked ok.

I get the same situation when using the air con or air recycle mode.

Before I go and do any unneccessary work, I would be grateful if you chaps could point me in a direction that could save me time.

All responses would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Johnwa.

Done - there was a bit of debris in there, but no water - all cleared out, but still no go. Could this be a relay fault?

Is there perhaps a fault in the resistance-pack or it`s connector?
I think it lives in the draughty-bit somewhere in the airducting near the heater-matrix.  ;)

Yeh, fan speed resistor is favourite which lives behind the glove box in the air trunking to the right of the fan
