pain to start
« on: 20 March 2008, 20:43:37 »

only started today. engine cranks as normal but refuses to start. after a few mins of cranking, it pops and farts a few times then starts. once it starts it runs as normal and will start fine. problem only occurs when car is stood for a few hrs. any help would be greatly appreciated. its as if the fuel is draining back to the tank and has to be pulled thru again. i could be wrong tho.

Do the 'paper clip' check to look for a code 19...crank sensor.
Also try holding the throttle to the floor while cranking, if it starts immediately like this then you have a weeping injector which is dribbling fuel when engine is stopped and the resulting mixture is too rich to fire on the next start-up.
