Omega 2.5tdi AR25 4 speed auto

hi can any help i have a problem with my ar25 4 speed auto reverce gear works fine but i have no forward drive unless i select 1st gear and rev the engine until the gearbox light comes on the i get drive but it feels like its in top gear its like this weather the engine is hot or cold and it stays in limp home till i switch.

Sounds like the torque converter is packing up...worth checking fluid levels though and cleaning the gear selector switch and see if that helps...

gearbox level fine but would the gear selector affect reverce

how many miles has your car done ?? if its coming up on 100000 your gearbox will be knackered mate the ar25 carnt take torque of bmw td you need to source and fit a ar35 from 3.0 cars !! :y

I'd say the AR25 is kanckered, and its not surprising.  TC's rarely fail, and when they do, you'll know!

Try to replace with a AR35 if possible, though you'll have to use the TC and bellhousing from your box (TD TC and bellhousing is unique)
