Smoking 2.2DTI from last week
« on: 01 April 2008, 19:56:43 »

Hi everybody,
thanks for all the ideas when I posted this last week.
Been away so I couldn't get back on here.
2 developments to tell you about.
I put the car into the local Vaux Dealer for a diagnostic check (which they charged me £65 for!!)
They have told me that the injection pump and the ECU both need to be replaced and the bill will come to £2100.
A contact from Aberdeen came down this morning with what he described as the latest Pickavant ACR4 unit and he managed to read the codes.
!. 1100
2. 0105
3. 1125
Can anybody make any sense of this in relation to what the vaux garage has said.

Cheers

Steve

Sorry, on this engine, the codes don't mean much without the description. For example, 0105 can mean anything from Boost Pressure sensor to Critical System Malfunction.  1100 is Critical System Malfunction, 1125 is boost pressure solenoid or system malfunction.

Looking at those codes, if I had no further help, I'd be looking at boost pressure sensor, and the wastegate around the turbo - wondering if wastegate sticky or not working and hence overboosting.
