have to be near my car, to remote un lock, will not un lock from a distance, is this normal, have re placed the battery.

You will get better distance if you put the key blade in your mouth

Mine doesn't work to well but iv'e yet to change the battery.

How close is 'near' & how far from the car do you need to be before you want to open/close your car?

If you open it from too far away then the courtesy light has gone off before you get to it.
