Sounds like an air lock, run the car for 20mins with the coolant bottle top off.

Have you "burped" the pipes ??? With the heater set to max HOT, once the engine is warm enough to open the thermostat, with the cap on, and before the system starts to build up pressure,  just keep squeezing the big coolant pipe in short bursts. Keep doing this all the while the system warms up, it often moves airlocks nicely .. :)

Is there nowhere to bleed out the air on a meega? I'm sure other cars ive owned have had little valves in the large hoses to bleed the air off when you are refilling the system?  :-/

I only know the V6 .. and you can't bleed or even drain 50% of the engine .. easily.

I expect there is a difficult convoluted Vx wages way .. but for us mere mortals it is slow and repetetive to flush, and awkward to get rid of the air .. but it can be done with patience..

NONE !!!  The ECU will give EXACTLY the correct VOLUME of fuel controlled by many sensors, including lambda's. All the higher pressure fuel wil do is get that in there a tad faster so the injector timing will be reduced by the ECU... result .. EXACTLY the same power... :)

Of course if the injectors can't handle it, the extra pressure will cause failure and an EML light with RPM limited to 4000 .. so giving LESS power ...  :)

update:

removed top heater matrix hose in the engine bay and stuck mygarden hose in it, the amount of crap/brown sludge etc that came out was ridiculous, considering i have flushed the cooling system  several times.

all fixed and working now, gets very hot in the cabin, also engine is running coller at about 93 now instead of 98-100ish

thanks for the help all

Glad to hear it is sorted .. :)

Just as a minor point, many folks flush the coolant system several times, or stick a hose in and let it run,  with the engine not running. This will NOT clear the heater matrix !!!

The way to flush the heater is to flush the radiator side as normal, refill, (burp lots to remove airlocks) then run the engine with the heater controls at HOT for at least 30 minutes, allow to cool, drain, flush, repeat....... several times ......

This gets to be a pain, so my normal way is, drain, flush radiator, refill, burp..... run for 3 days with heater on max ... repeat ... do this about 4 times, then drain, fill with 5 litres antifreeze, top up to normal, burp lots .. job done ....

:)
