3.0 v6
« on: 16 May 2008, 10:46:15 »

Hi all i got a little problem with my car when the car gets warm it starts to like missfire between 1.5k 2k revs. after that it is fine goes up the full range of revs. I have changed leads and spark plugs had it plugged into tech2 by a vauxhall mech with no faults found. But if i flip the throttle b4 pulling away it is sort of ok so could it be the throttle position sensor it doesn't do it all the time. Help on this would be most appriciated.

Car has done 76k on a '98 S reg.

worth doing a paperclip test to confirm no fault codes are there.

I have had it plugged into tech2 and no faults found and the vauxhall guy said nothing will show up if the engine management light doesn't come on.

Got any tappet noise?

Mine was running if started from hot (cleared up after a minute) when the tappets were rattling. I changed the oil and the tappet noise and lumpyness stopped 200 miles later. might just be a coincidence tho.

If no fault codes (and you can check with paperclip, cheaper than tech2 ;)), suspect HT issues...

i had this before, i changed the plugs and leads and it still did it (now the bad news it was the coil pack , and they are not an easy job on the v6)

I replaced my coil pack/Dis pack last night and found the easiest method was to also remove plenum and fuel injector housing - was not a bad job.

3 different types, but as long as same mounting and same plug, it will work
