Often a very sweet smell is hot water/antifreeze mix ... have a good look for small leaks and check water levels regularly ... I'm assuming you are NOT having to top the water up ??

Other thing that smells sweet can be windscreen washer fluid ???

Could be exhaust fumes from a cold engine. They tend to run very rich and with the ignition very retarded from cold in an attempt to warm the cats up.
