Parts Compatibility Between Models
« on: 10 June 2008, 22:23:53 »

Hi all

I have a 1997 2.0ltr GLS Omega im about to scrap after timing belt failure .... i now have a 2002 2.2 CD Omega... are there any parts i could scavenge out of this car before it goes to the graveyard in case i have problems with the new one sometime down the road .....    I only have a limited toolkit so im not looking at gearboxes etc lol , just some of the more easier to remove bits.

Thanks

Didn't think that scrappers liked the stripping of em as they want as many bits as possible, my m8 did it with his banger when they arrived to pull it on the recovery vehicle & they saw stuff missing they just left it wouldn't take it cost him in end to have it scrapped ... :o

I doubt there is much/anything worth bothering about on a GLS...and not too much that will be worth saving AND fit...but if you go to a place that weighs cars in (as long as you can get it there yourself) rather than a scrap yard that basically says yeah we will take it off your hands for nowt without even a thanks...it wont matter what you take off it!

I take my stripped cars in minus engine, gearbox, cats, interior plus any other parts that sell and they still give me a load of cash for them...although they do need wheels...
