Facelift rear centre headrest compatability?
« on: 25 June 2008, 15:34:27 »

Hi,

My 2000 facelift 2.5 Elite came without the rear centre headrest (light grey solid type), now I guess I'm unlikely to ever really need it but it irks me that it is missing. They are not exactly prolific on ebay either.  Can anyone tell me whether earlier pre-facelift ones (or later ones) would fit?.

Also, anyone know how much it would cost to buy one new (and I am ready to wince and shudder at what it might costs!). Ta.

Mine has been in the loft since I got home from collecting the car.

Thanks Jay w

Re "is yours leather or cloth interior?" - Mines cloth.

Kevin,

Re "Mine has been in the loft since I got home from collecting the car".

I guess mine must be in someones loft or garage too! I can understand why as rear visibility for parking is tight at the best of times, must get some parking sensors fitted at some point. I was thinking of maybe getting one of the open type ones from a pre-facilift which would leave a little bit of rear visibility.

I've seen an Omega with a low centre head restraint from a Jag fitted instead of the proper one. Unfortunately I don't which model of Jag it was from. :-/

I know the mini facelift ones fit the facelifts. When I sold my mini facelift I kept the centre head rest as my facelift didnt come with it. Its not the same colour but that doesnt matter for the few occasions when I will need to use it.

Your facelift will be a different trim/colour to the old shape ones won't it??? There are an increasing number of facelift cars being broken at the scrapyard sadly, so that would be the best port of call.

Markey Mark is a good lad and breaks a number of cars, he's got a facelift one at the moment, otherwise he might know someone who has?....or put an advert in 'Wanted'.
