charge light

hi gang, charge light lit up this evening thought aux belt was slipping so reved eng went out good .......came to start later ignition lights on no battery light lit and battery wouldnt turn eng over,am i correct in thinking altenator is buggerd and now need bulb in inst cluster

Jump start it and do a voltage check... Probably need alternator and poss dash bulb

Sounds like it, just had the same problem and yet it showed charging when I did the multimeter test. Alternator was overcharging, voltage regulator, hence blown battery bulb.............. New alternator and bulb fitted by local auto electric place.

gaw, Thats a bit of a pig to change. If it is the
Alternator, does sound like it. Have a look at the
Guide on repairing alternator, worth a look.
Failing that i found vx did an exchange service
That worked out best for me.

well got another omega thats just failed mot on rust so going to take alt and bul of that ,and see how it goes from there
