Low Field is a faulty Xenon sensor front or rear wishbone cant remeber which side sensors are on but i thbink the rear is passangers side

or could be faulty lifter motors if you search the forum for the error message it should bring up a fair few topics about it

F on theremo is a faulty thermo sensor i think they sometimes pack up dont know how to replace it but on the vectras it lives in the front grill so i assume its the same on omega

knocking sounds like a bushing or track rod bushing any competent mechanic can diagnose which one it is!

dont worry too much though they are all relatively simple and cheapish problems to fix! common omega problems!

Headlight fault will be popped off sensor, or failed servo.

F C means the outside temp sensor has failed - lives behind bumper (near middle on facelift, passenger side on prefacelift)

Hi, had the same message on my car a while back.......Have a look where the front wishbone is hinged against the chassis leg, about midway front to rear, under where the electrical wires are.  You should see a rod about 2 inches or so long which connects a plastic gubbins about the size of a matchbox to the chassis leg.  If you imagine the suspension moving when you are driving, it reads the relative movement of the parts and adjusts the headlamp aim accordingly to avoid dazzle.

The rod should be ok, the culprit on mine was the black plastic bit (kept popping out) held it in place with 'lastic band till i could scource a replacement from the scrappers.

hth

Regards

Roland

ps if you have a pre 2000 car you will have one mechanism o/s and another on the n/s later cars only had one I believe

Hi Eastwood.

On an old Corsa, FC meant the ECU didn't know what the outside temperature was. So heavy consumption and poor starting was caused by the ECU using the choke too much.

Omega is multi-point injection so probably less sensitive. But the bit for the Corsa (back then) was about £7 and a piece of cake to change.

Unplug old one. Plug in new one...  :)

People will kill me for this...

But.., the facelift has the butt ugly 'corporate' Vx grill. And butt ugly double row lights at the back.

Among other things. Like bigger engines, more sophisticated suspension, better interiors....

The MV6 lost the lowered suspension.

..and then there's the "mini-facelift" to throw into the mix, but the changes were minor (from what i read!).

I'm happy with my "original" old boat...

Prefacelift Recaro sports leather is far superior to any mainstream cars leather in my opinion!
