If you have nothing else then a jubilee will suffice, but do not overtighten it!

As TB says, better to use the gen clips if you have them.

Thanks to TMX for going to local GM dealer and sorting a new hose and some antifreeze on his Trade Card  :y  :y  :y  :y  :y  :y  :y  :y

next question ::) i've refitted hose and topped up water and stuck some rad flush in which i'm gonna run in it tommorow and then check no leaks tomorrow night before flushing out a couple of times and then filling (50/50) with antifreeze.
Any way of cleaning up the washer bottle so it doesn't look so dirty yellow and you can see the nice fresh red antifreeze??? :-/

Just been out to check fro leaks and the connection to the block which i replaced with a jubilee is dry as a bone ;) but the top join to the rad with a standard GM spring clip is just weeping ::)

How much water stays in the block unless you take the water pump out??? ::)

Reason i ask is finished flushing system tonight then filled up with antifreeze.
My plan was to flush through with loads of water, run engine flush with water run engine etc so that only water in system then add neat antifreeze 4.75 litres to give 50/50 mix in a 9.5 litre system.
Prob is when i put 4.75 litres of antifreeze in there were no room for water ::)
I know a lot is held in the block unless you remove water pump but really that much??? :o
