Engine Management question...
« on: 12 August 2008, 17:17:02 »

With having an Elite, you get all the hokey-pokey on the display (consumption, range, etc etc...)

If you fit aftermarket management, like DTA or something (if your tuning an engine), will you loose all these features??  Or are they calculated seperately??

Cheers :)

Consumtion is based on a fuel demand signal from the ECU so you will lose consumption data. Speed signal is from ABS, IIRC, so mileage, etc. should still work.

Have you looked at a megasquirt? If you could find the spec of the fuel demand signal you could probably write some code to add it.

Then again, what are you trying to achieve by going to an aftermarket fuel injection controller anyway?

Still looking at a 3.2, and thinking it would be better to run it from standalone rather than a chipped & bodged 3ltr ecu...  Plus that way I can do away with the EGR without any problems.
