Swapping DIS pack wiring
« on: 19 August 2008, 19:14:16 »

Right then.  I have a new CDX with what looks like a fubared DIS pack, it's a 1995 plate and the DIS pack has a square plug which is on the longer side of the pack.

I also have my now written off old GLS back with a DIS pack that is less than 8 months old in it but it has a different shaped plug.

Is it just the shape of the plugs that are different on the 3 types of coil packs or is the wiring different?

If it's only the plug shape the differs would I be able to use my good coil pack in my CDX by taking the plug from the GLS and putting it on the CDX.

Would rather not have to spend £100+ on another pack if I can make use of the nearly new one I already have.

Vauxhall used three differerent DIS packs at this time, it's imperative that the part number is the same, as otherwise the part won't work, so... judging by the fact that your other pack has a different wire connector, one might imagine that it won't be the same unit.  if it is, perhaps you could trace the loom back and change it over with the pack.
