Pic of steering idler in-situ?
« on: 19 August 2008, 19:35:40 »

Hi - I'm finding it hard to work out what I'm looking for with this steering idler.

Is there a pic anywhere (I've searched) that shows the steering idler on the car, preferably with a big red arrow pointing to it! ;)

I haven't got a pic, but if you look behind and to the rear of the passenger side wheel you will see an arm which has a ball joint at both ends and two nuts in the middle, the ball joint furthest away from you is located in the steering idler.

Thanks - that's very useful.

As per my idler thread, I jacked up the passenger side and wobbled the wheel with hands at 3 and 9 o'clock, but there is no movement in the wheel at all.

I will have to do it again and look at the idler, now I know where it is!

Cheers.

If there's no movement, I would say the idler is OK.
