Anyone know what happens if you "decat" a 2.5td and fit a straight thro pipe , does it give more power or does it just confuse the ecu . Anyboby tried it ?

its not really a cat to be honest more a pretence than anything else
never removed one to see but interested to find out??

done it on my rover 200 diesel & it did help a bit, but not as many censors & stuff to worry about, if you do it be prepared for a more throaty tone to the exhaust, but do let us know when youve done it!![yes i did say when as im too chicken!] perhaps "chipping" the ecu would be more favourable & less messing about, ive got mine ordered now!!! :ythanks for passing on my details to terry TB,,,nice one :)
