2.5/2.6 backbox on a 3.0
« on: 18 September 2008, 14:45:39 »

As per title really - is it OK to put a 2.6 backbox on a 3.0? I know mechanically it will fit - does the 3.0 need a twin exit for more flow, or is it purely cosmetic?

Reason I ask is because my exhaust is.... well.... rotton and on the floor.

It needs replacing... but I only want to use genuine parts, and finances are not great - the 2.6 box is half the price of the 3.0 one

So... if changes are cosmetic, I'll use it - if it will make a difference to running, I'll get the 3.0 one

Please advise :D

Same fit - I was going to use a 3.0 but couldn't afford it.

Can't see any flow issues either

One last Omega on the drive, one Corsa on the lawn...maybe they'll go to a good home before too long!

it's quite handy having twin pipes coz i can tell that the 1-3-5 bank is smoking more than the n/s ::)

Doesn't all the gasses get mixed into one, inside the backbox then?
