Cam cover costs
« on: 21 September 2008, 17:38:12 »

Hi all....thought i'd pose this query to you experts out there......
- any of you that have had cam cover gaskets and air pipes/breather box cleaned out, what sort of costs are we looking at? (independents and vaux dealer) - would appreciate your comments.
Also, is there an additive to cure a 'sticky' noisey tappet/lifter when starting from cold in mornings? (quietens down within 20-30 seconds and is perfect all day long) - i really do appreciate your help/expert advice. :y

Mine did exactly the same - a couple of oil & filter changes cured completely. :y

My local (not dealer) garage charged me £210 inc vat to change both sets of cam cover gaskets, clean the breathers and carry out a full service. This was for labour only, I supplied all the parts using my TC card .
