Just been quoted £65 + vat for total gearbox drain, new gaskets, filter and Dex 3. Saves getting me hands dirty!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :)

Small local transmission specialist. Been around for quite a few years. Replaced a Ford Scorpio autobox for me about 9 years ago was the cheapest in Bristol by about £300 for a recon. unit. :) :)

Are you providing the ATF?

Its a good £30 for 10L of DEX III, £25 for gasket and filters...

Sorry but that sounds too cheap, i would not trust the fitters at that price. Its a 2 hour job too, most of the time spent is cleaning the old gasket off.

That sounds way too good to be true. Its about what vx charge for the filter on its own!

Even if they sourced the filter and fluid cheaply, they'd have to be doing the work for free, no?

Saying that tho, i had a new filter stolen of my mig last week, thought it was bizarre at the time but now........ ;)

I'd consider watching them do it just to be sure at that money.
